3 and BPI Telecom to Boost Retail Presence for Mobile, Broadband and Distribution Services
3’s market presence to increase by over 200 outlets

BPI Telecom, Ireland's biggest importer and distributor of mobile phones and accessories, has signed an agreement with 3, Ireland’s fastest growing broadband and mobile phone network, to distribute 3’s mobile phone and broadband services.
The agreement sees 3 increase its retail presence by over 200 outlets.
“We will bring 3’s value proposition to consumers and provide a bespoke service to retailers,” commented Fergus Sweeney, managing director, BPI Telecom. “2009 is a year that consumers are looking for value and we feel that our partnership with 3 will bring reduced mobile costs – essential to consumers and businesses alike.”
The news follows the announcement that 3 has been awarded the contract for the Government’s National Broadband Scheme (NBS) which will provide broadband connectivity to rural areas of Ireland currently un-served by other providers.
Commenting on the agreement with BPI, Elaine Carey, sales director at 3 said, “We are Ireland’s leading mobile broadband provider and the second largest broadband supplier in the country. This significant deal with BPI Telecom will see our high-speed internet services made available to more and more people around the country in some of the country’s most popular stores.”
